RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, OCTOBER 21, 2024: In sync with the rest of the world, people obsessed with numbers assembled at the Department of Statistics, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Sircilla, located Shatrajpalli, Vemulawada, to celebrate the World Statistics Day on Monday.
Under the patronage of the Head Department of Statistics R Alekya, the students participated actively in the presented various models by displaying charts and explaining the importance of statistics.
Principal P.S.R. Sharma, Vice Principal K. Lavanya, Faculty of Statistics P Sankirtana, faculty and students participated. On this occasion, the Principal highlighted the significance of World Statistics Day and the role that statistics play for the development of society. Encouraging the students, he said, choosing a career in Statistics, students can contribute a great deal towards development.
Faculty members explained the applications of Statistics in different branches of knowledge. The programme highlighted the critical role statistics play in shaping societies, improving lives and enabling informed decision-making, fostering sustainable development, promoting transparency and empowering policymakers around the world.
