KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY, 26, 2024: A Vishwanath Prasad has emerged as Telangana State Chess Champion by winning five out of five rounds at the State-level Open Chess championship conducted by Karimnagar Chess Academy in Karimnagar town on Sunday.
Among 70 players including 25 international FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) players, Mr Vishwanath had defeated all the participants as top player in the championship. Similarly, the Chess Academy students Ch Kashyap (under 13) and B Aman Ram (under 11) have also won prizes. Coach Kapparthi Shivaiah, senior players Ch Maruthi, E Mallesham and others congratulated Vishwanath Prasad on his achievement.
