HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 08, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay has launched a scathing attack against the behaviour of Congress and BRS leaders over the functioning of the Legislative Assembly.
People are disgusted after seeing the way the Assembly proceedings are being conducted and are laughing at the abusive and street-level language used by Congress and BRS leaders, he charged.
He also found fault with the BRS leaders for using abusive language against the Assembly Speaker No one who believes in democracy can accept BRS leaders abusing the Speaker with objectionable language. BRS MLC Tatha Madhu and BRS leaders who assaulted the police should be arrested immediately and sent to jail and strict action should be taken against them as per the law.
Talking to news at BJP party office in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Union Minister said: ‘It is unfortunate to waste valuable Assembly time by discussing the same issue for two days while completely ignoring public problems. At least now, stop these diversionary dramas and focus on people’s issues. People are suffering because of 22A land issues, while ministers and ruling party leaders are allegedly involved in land dealings worth thousands of crores of rupees’.
Several lakhs of students are suffering because fee reimbursement dues have not been cleared and they are unable to get their certificates. Farmers in South Telangana are worried because they are not getting irrigation water.
Unemployed youth are suffering due to lack of jobs, while IT companies and industries are shutting down. Employees, teachers and pensioners are struggling because they are not receiving DA, retirement benefits and pending bills. They are waiting for these issues to be discussed in the Assembly.
People are eagerly waiting for the six guarantees to be fully implemented. Poor people are suffering because they do not have their own homes and are unable to afford house rents. People are falling sick and ending up in hospitals because of mosquitoes, diseases and poor sanitation.
The prices of essential commodities have increased sharply, causing great hardship to the people. The Assembly should discuss people’s problems and find solutions. Are you using the Assembly for your political games?, he questioned.
He alleged that the Congress and BRS are putting up a fight for show, while secretly joining hands and fooling the people. Stopping people who are holding democratic protests with the help of police is completely wrong, he said and added it is wrong for BRS leaders to attack police personnel who are on duty and abuse them with foul language.
Police beat BJP workers who were peacefully protesting over fee reimbursement, causing them to bleed. Strict action must be taken against police personnel who misbehaved with BJP workers and those holding democratic protests.
Even though BRS leaders were not seriously injured, they are creating a drama as if something major happened. The Congress government is unable to tolerate even democratic protests and, out of frustration, is making one mistake after another, he stated.
He condemned the way police treated senior women MLAs like Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and demanded strict action must be taken against those who behaved in an inhuman manner with them.
The BRS party lost the right to be the principal opposition party long ago. Why should KCR have the status of Leader of the Opposition when he does not even attend the Assembly?, he asked.
The alleged attack on KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse and the claim of an attempt on his life are nothing but a big joke, he said and added that former CM was hiding in his hideout. The culture of intimidating people through the police was promoted by the BRS earlier and is now being promoted by the Congress.
