

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 15, 2025: To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the ‘Beti Bachao – Beti Padao’ campaign, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar formally launched the distribution of bicycles to the girl students studying 10th class of various government schools in Karimnagar town on Saturday.


The district administration has identified 100 girl children for the distribution of bicycles and distributed cycles to 30 girls on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that they would ensure that all the girls studying tenth class were provided with bicycles for easy transportation. He also promised to provide washing machines to all the girls’ hostels.
Collector Pamela Satpathy said that the State Bank of India officials have sponsored 30 bicycles for the girl students. She said that they were conducting career guidance, personality development and welfare schemes for the girl students as part of the Snehita programme.
The Collector remembered that the administration has ensured that 110 drop-out students were educated and ensured that they continue their higher education by completing the SSC examinations.
Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam said that the police machinery would be in the forefront to train the girl students in self-defence activities by imparting martial arts training. The girl students captivated the audience with their scintillating performances in martial arts and cultural activities. Additional Collector Praful Desai, trainee Collector Ajay Yadav, State Child Rights Commission member Shoba Rani, District Welfare Officer K Sabitha Kumari, SBI AGM S Venkatesh and others were also present.
