KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 11, 2024: Following the instructions of the Reserve Bank of India, the Union Bank of India Karimnagar region has conducted an awareness campaign on the acceptance of Rs 10 coins in Karimnagar town on Friday.
The UBI team led by its regional head D Aparna Reddy, deputy regional head V Radha Krishnan, Currency Chest Manager PVV SC Murthy, other branch managers Vivek, Anurag, Rajitha, G Krishna and Harikrishna Reddy and others participated in the campaign by carrying banners and placards at the busy market area in Karimnagar town.
In the backdrop of reluctance among traders, small businesses and members of the public to accept Rs 10 coins, the UBI officials have educated the people that the RBI had issued clear guidance that the Rs 10 coin was acceptable.
“The RBI has issued Rs 10 coins in different designs. It is re-emphasized that Rs 10 coins regardless of design are legal tender and can be accepted for transactions without any hesitations,” the bank officials educated the people.
