Speaking on the occasion, the EO directed the officials to constitute a committee to study and prepare a report on the Sacred Harathi programmes being conducted at various places, including Kashi on the banks of the River Ganga and Ujjain, among other locations. He stated that Sacred Harathi, performed amidst Vedic chants, the glow of lamps and the resonance of bells, enhances the spiritual experience of devotees, and therefore the committee should undertake an in-depth study and submit a comprehensive report.
The EO informed that letters have already been addressed to the Chief Secretaries of several states seeking land allocation for the construction of Sri Venkateswara temples in their respective capitals, and advised officials to coordinate with the concerned authorities. He also instructed them to hold discussions with relevant officials regarding land allocation in Guwahati and Belgaum regions.
He further directed that appropriate arrangements be made by the end of this month to provide separate training programmes for Veda Parayanadars and Potu workers. The EO noted that 1,004 CCTV cameras are proposed to be installed in 59 local and subsidiary temples under TTD, of which 794 cameras are already operational, and instructed officials to expedite installation in the remaining locations.
Additionally, he directed that the names of donors who contribute towards Anna Prasadam distribution in local and subsidiary temples should be displayed on LED screens. He also asked officials to coordinate with District Collectors concerned for the allocation of land required for the construction of Sri Venkateswara temples in agency (tribal) areas of the state. Reviews were also conducted on activities related to the Education, Medical, Legal, Forest and Engineering departments.
TTD JEO V. Veerabrahmam, CVSO K.V. Murali Krishna, FA & CAO O. Balaji, CE T.V. Satyanarayana and other officials participated in the meeting.
