
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 13, 2025: Telangana State Sarvai Papanna Toddy tappers industry association, Karimnagar district unit, has strongly condemned the adulteration of toddy by some business section and causing the death of its consumers in Hyderabad recently.
At an emergency meeting in Karimnagar town on Sunday, the Toddy tappers association state president Koduri Parushuram Goud demanded that the culprits involved in the supply of adulterated toddy and claiming the lives of innocent people should be punished severely. They found fault with the traders selling adulterated toddy and bringing a bad reputation to the traditional toddy tappers, who climb the trees to extract the toddy and sell it genuinely.
The meeting also demanded that the government should provide ex gratia to the toddy tappers who lost their lives by falling from the trees while extracting toddy. They also demanded that the illegal liquor shops be removed in all villages, which were playing with the lives of the gullible masses by serving cheap liquor.
The meeting passed a resolution demanding that the government take measures to eradicate adulterated toddy by punishing the culprits and not to harass the toddy tappers. The meeting also demanded the removal of illegal belt shops and providing ex gratia to the toddy-tappers who had fallen from the trees while extracting the toddy.
The association leaders are Veeragoni Pendamani, Sandeenuri Mallesham Goud. Dhammita Rajamallu, Burra Parushuramulu Goud, Ramshankar Goud, Burra Narsaiah Goud, P Anjaneyulu Goud, , Bodige Parushulu Ramulu Goud, Ilaiah Goudm B Rajaiah Goud, Dasari Ilanna, Ballanna Sambaiah and others were also present.
