KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 17, 2026: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has announced that the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation will offer free rides to students appearing for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination on June 21.
The Transport Minister, along with Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar, travelled in an RTC bus from Thimmapur to Karimnagar town on Tuesday. The Ministers interacted with commuters and inquired about the RTC services.
Talking to newsmen, Mr Prabhakar said that the RTC was taking all measures to operate additional buses during the peak hours for the benefit of school and college students. Stating that the Telangana government was first in the country to offer free travel for the womenfolk under the Mahalakshmi scheme, he also reminded that they had made women the owners of RTC buses.
