Indian-American Saritha’s candidature was endorsed by US President Donald Trump
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 04, 2026: Indian origin Komatireddy Saritha Reddy, Republican candidate supported by US President Donald Trump, contested the New York Attorney General Elections as part of the US Mid-Term elections and lost to incumbent Democrat Attorney General Letitia James, which is her hatrick victory for the Attorney General.
Conceding her defeat in the midterm elections, Saritha posted on X: “Ultimately, that’s what public office is about – public service means serving people, not celebrity or personal gain. Whatever I do moving forward will be about exactly that – serving others and making New York safer,” she said.

“I am deeply grateful to the thousands of volunteers, supporters, and everyday New Yorkers who believed in our campaign and our vision for a safer and stronger New York. I’m proud of the campaign we ran,” Komatireddy stated. Komatireddy said her campaign showed that politics does not have to be about division and hate, which brought people together.
Saritha Komatireddy was born in Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents, Dr Hanumanth Reddy, a cardiologist and Dr Geetha Reddy, a rheumatologist, had immigrated to the U.S. from Chegyam village in Velgatoor mandal of the integrated Karimnagar district and Telangana state, and settled there in the 1980s. Her relatives in the village are happy that she has contested this prestigious election. Komatireddy Saritha is a close relative of former SUDA Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy.
