SUDA chairman launches new Common Diet initiative in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 14, 2024: SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy has formally inaugurated the Common Diet initiative, held at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women in Nagunuru on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Saturday.

This ambitious programme, launched across Telangana by the state government, aims to improve the educational and living standards of students from marginalized communities. The SUDA lauded the initiative as a transformative step toward the holistic development of students, particularly those from SC, ST, BC, and minority backgrounds.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Narender Reddy emphasized the Telangana Government’s unwavering commitment to empowering marginalized students through enhanced educational opportunities and better living conditions. He highlighted the government’s groundbreaking decisions, including a 40% increase in diet charges and a remarkable 400% hike in cosmetic charges. These enhancements, described as unprecedented in the state’s history, reflect the government’s resolve to provide quality food and essential amenities to Gurukul students, fostering an environment that supports their growth and confidence.

The students presented colourful culturtal porgrammes hailing the decision of the state government. Principal T Malathi, vice principal G Samatha, faculty members Y Vekateshwarlu, T Suresh Kumar, S Padmaja, P Shankaraiah, Parents committee president Laxminarayana and others were also present.
