Students don the role of teachers as part of self-governing day
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 05, 2024: Students of Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar celebrated the Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and devotion to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President Dr S Radhakrishnan and to honour the contributions of teachers on Thursday.
The day commenced with a special assembly, where students paid floral tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. School principal Renuka Balivada delivered a speech highlighting the vital role of teachers in shaping the future of the nation and the importance of gratitude towards educators. The students celebrated by stepping into the shoes of their teachers and organizing a Self-Governing Day.
Under the leadership of acting Director Disha Dey of Class XII and acting Principal Siri Choudhary, also of Class XII, the students took charge of the day’s activities, running the school in a seamless and disciplined manner. The morning assembly was filled with energy, as students performed dances as a tribute to their teachers, showcasing their respect and admiration.
A cultural programmes followed, where students performed dances, and songs dedicated to their teachers. These performances showcased the strong bond between students and teachers, expressing love and admiration. Senior students also took on the roles of teachers for the day, giving them a unique perspective on the responsibilities of educators.
In the afternoon, teachers were felicitated with tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with heartfelt speeches by students, sharing stories of how their teachers had inspired and guided them throughout their academic journey.
The celebration was a reminder of the pivotal role teachers play in moulding young minds, and it left both teachers and students with a renewed sense of respect and gratitude.
Chairman Sudhakar Rao Polasani and Director (Academics) T. LalithaKumari, expressed their best wishes to the students for their remarkable efforts in organizing and managing the event. The day highlighted the strong bond between students and teachers, honouring the educators’ contributions to shaping the future.
