JAGTIAL, MARCH 10, 2025: Students of Government Degree College for Women (autonomous) Jagtial on Monday were taught to make eco-friendly colours for the Holi festival by using flowers, leaves and barks of plants
Under the guidance of the Eco-club, the students used the flowers of ‘Flames of the Forest’ (Butea Monosperma), which are abundant during this season and produce natural colours to play Holi, which are environment-friendly and would not cause any harm to the skin of the people.
Stating that the artificial colours were causing harm to the people during the Holi celebrations, the teachers said that the chemical colours are hazardous and pose a threat to human health. Hence, they stressed the need to popularize the use of eco-friendly colours to make the festival of colours more joyful.
Incharge Principal T Pramod Kumar, Botany department HoD g Chandraiah, Eco-club coordinator D Sujata, faculty members Srilatha, Neeraja, Vasavi, Varaprasad, Naresh and others were aslo present.
