

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, APRIL 14, 2025: Students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for women, Shatrajpalli, Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district, under the aegis of NSS, celebrated the 134th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar with lots of enthusiasm on the college campus on Monday.

Students delivered an informative speech on the life history of Dr Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution. Important incidents from his life were narrated to students to inculcate good values among them. The students enacted a small play highlighting the achievements and contributions of Dr Ambedkar, and emphasis was laid on his writing a vase and the longest Constitution of the world. His contributions to the uplift of lower caste people were also highlighted. Students dressed up as Dr Ambedkar, recited a few lines on his life history.
College Principal K Lavanya motivated the students to follow Dr Ambedkar’s footsteps and inculcate his values in their lives to achieve their aim and uplift society. She emphasized that his visionary role in shaping the Indian Constitution had a profound impact on the future of the country. To inspire students and foster social awareness, various cultural programs were organized by the college.
As part of the celebrations, competitions such as elocution, essay writing, and drawing were conducted. Prizes were awarded to the winners, encouraging student participation and creativity. The event saw the active involvement of Vice Principal B. Sumalatha, Cultural Committee Coordinator S. Sandhyarani, NSS Programme Officer V Swapna, Advisory Council Members R Deepti and G Swapna, along with faculty members and students, all of whom participated with great enthusiasm.
