

HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 01, 2025: Sports Day is an exhilarating event that brings together students, teachers and parents in a celebration of athleticism, teamwork, camaraderie and community spirit. It’s a day when students can take a break from their academic routine and showcase their athletic talents.

The highly anticipated Annual Sports Day celebration of the Preparatory wing of Sister Nivedita School took place at Sri Kotla Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium, Yousufguda Hyderabad on 31 January 2025.
The ceremony started with a prayer to the Almighty followed by an inaugural welcome address by the Correspondent of the Institution, Rotarian M. Harihara Prasad. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr Anup Kumar Yama, Arjuna Award winner – 2015, World Champion in roller Skating.
The opening ceremony of the Sports Day began with a torch relay symbolizing the spirit of sportsman spirit and teamwork, along with the hoisting of the sports flag by the Chief Guest.
The day’s festivity began with a disciplined march past headed by the NCC cadets followed by the Scouts and Guides along with the four distinctive houses Anurag, Pragati, Prerna and Shradha. A grand display of pride and enthusiasm was displayed by the young enthusiasts.
An impressive and thought-provoking display of tableau by all the houses providing a visual glimpse into the cultural heritage, achievements and aspirations for a digital and self-reliant India was much appreciated by everyone present.
The annual sports report was presented by the Principal of the school, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, highlighting the school’s remarkable achievements in various sports and games.
The eventful evening further got more exciting with the colourful display of drills in various forms such as Zumba, Hula Hoop, and Aerobics that showcased the students’ athletic talents and teamwork. The display of various forms of exercises such as Yoga, Karate and Judo by the young Niveditans left a lasting impression on everyone present in the auditorium.
To keep up the tempo, students participated in the relay race with enthusiasm and energy, they were cheered by an enthusiastic crowd that motivated them to demonstrate excellent sportsmanship. The evening got further excited by the parents’ participation in different events such as ‘Rolling the Tyre’ for men and ‘Lemon and Spoon’ for women.
The day culminated in a prize distribution ceremony for parents and students, where winners were awarded medals and certificates. The Chairman of the Institution, Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polasani, the correspondent of the Institution, Rotarian M. Harihara Prasad and The Principal of the Institution Dr. T Lalitha Kumari congratulated the participants and the winners and encouraged all the students to pursue their passion for sports and strive for excellence.
