
HYDERABAD, AUGUST 26, 2025: A State-level Camp was organized on Tuesday at the Office of the Director, Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens & Transgender Persons (PwDSC&TGP), Malakpet, Hyderabad.
The camp was specially conducted to provide services related to Transgender Identity Cards and Aadhaar updates/registrations.
It was jointly organised by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens & Transgender Persons and the Queer Bandhu Parents Association, with technical support from Vasavi Kinner Welfare Society, Alliance India, and Vikalp (Prajwala).
Through this initiative, 210 transgender persons were able to access the services.
Speaking on the occasion, B. Shailaja, Director, DEPwDSC&TGP, Hyderabad, stated that transgender persons face several challenges in accessing these services. To address these difficulties, the department organised this special camp to ensure easier access and support for the community.
