
CMD N. Balram congratulates the Singareni rescue teams for winning the National Championship
The Singareni rescue teams, which secured the Men’s National Championship and Second Place in the Women’s category, have achieved a record by winning a total of 20 awards this year
HYDERABAD, DECEMBER 11, 2025: Singareni Collieries Company Limited CMD N. Balram expressed great happiness over Singareni’s remarkable performance in the All India Mines Rescue Competitions held at Nagpur recently, where the men’s team won the championship and the women’s team secured the second position. He stated that this achievement of winning 20 awards is truly exceptional.
Addressing the teams via a video conference on Thursday, the CMD congratulated them and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit and excellence in the upcoming International Mines Rescue Competition, to be held in Zambia. He said it is particularly delightful that the newly formed women’s team of Singareni secured second place in its very first appearance.
During the felicitation programme held at Hyderabad’s Singareni Bhavan on Thursday, Director (P&P) Sri K. Venkateshwarlu praised the teams, stating that Singareni has garnered national recognition for the organisation through these achievements.
Rescue General Manager Srinivas Reddy briefed the gathering on the victories. He explained that in the 54th All India Mines Rescue Competitions, the Singareni men’s team won the first prize and the championship, while the women’s team secured second place. The men’s team also bagged first prizes in Rescue Relay, Theory, First Aid, and Rescue & Recovery events.
Similarly, the Singareni women’s team won first place in First Aid and secured several other awards in different categories. He also mentioned that Gayathri Challa won the Best Rescuer Award, while Krishnaveni received the Best Captain Award.
Out of a total of 36 teams that participated in the competition, Singareni teams created history by winning the highest number of awards — 20 in total. He congratulated all the award winners individually.
Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna, General Manager (Coordination) T. Srinivas, and other officials also congratulated the rescue team members and presented them with medals. Medical Superintendent Dr Rajeshwar, Rescue Superintendent Rajender Reddy, and several others participated in the event.
