

SCCL planning to introduce BSc (Nursing) course very soon

BADADRI KOTHAGUDEM, MARCH 31, 2025: Singareni Collieries Company Limited chairman and managing director N Balaram has formally inaugurated the new Nursing college building on the premises of the Singareni main hospital in Badadri Kothagudem district on Monday.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 2.46 crore, the C&MD said that the Nursing college started in the Singareni hospital in the year 1960 and produced 825 Nurses. Among them, 500 nurses were working in Singareni hospitals, 200 in government hospitals, 153 in foreign countries and private hospitals. Presently, 54 students are studying in the college, and 21 students have written exams and are waiting for results.
Mr Balaram said that presently the college was offering General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses and they were taking all measures to introduce the BSc (Nursing) course also to benefit the children of Singareni coal miners and others. He also said that they would soon launch CT and MRI scanning facilities and introduce knee replacement surgeries at the Singareni Main hospital.
Appealing to the doctors to provide all medical assistance to the coal miners and their family members at Singareni hospitals, he assured to provide all medical equipment to provide the corporate level treatment in the Singareni hospitals. He urged the doctors to reduce the referral of cases to private corporate hospitals.
Directors D Satyanarayana Rao, K Venkateshwarlu, LV Suryanarayana, CMO Dr P Sujatha, AITUC branch secretary SV Ramana Murthy, recognized union general secretary C Thyagarajan, corporate CMOAI president Ch Venkata Chary and others were also present.
