
JAGTIAL, MAY 30, 2025: Jagital Additional DMHO Dr N Srinivas said that the society should play a crucial role in checking the spread of Tuberculosis (TB) by promoting awareness, reducing stigma and supporting patients. They can also help in early detection, prevention and ensuring treatment adherence, he stated.
As part of the National TB Eradication Campaign, the Additional DMHO conducted a special TB screening camp in Ramannapet village of Mallial mandal of the district on Friday. On this occasion, Mr Srinivas said that TB is no longer incurable and its treatment is done free of cost in government hospitals. Along with treatment, the government provides financial assistance to patients every month. He said that under the campaign, tests and X-ray of suspected patients are being done free of cost by the Health Department.

He advised the people to visit the nearest PHC and consult government doctors for treatment if they experience coughing for two weeks, weight loss, fever, and other symptoms. MLHP Sushmitha, Supervisors Rajamma and Mankidi Srinivas, STS Srinivas, LT Rajender, ANMs Susheela, Kavitha, and ASHA workers were also present.
