KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 13, 2025: Praful Desai, the 2019 batch IAS officer, has assumed charge as the new Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) in Karimnagar town on Friday.
Additional Collector (local bodies) Mr Desai took charge as the new commissioner from the outgoing commissioner Chahat Bajpai, who was transferred as Commissioner of GWMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Desai said that he would accord priority for the implementation of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, Indiramma houses, new ration cards and other welfare programmes and development of the Karimnagar town on all fronts.
Assuring to take up several pending developmental works, he promised to streamline the birth and death sections, revenue, engineering, town planning and other departments. He assured to take measures for proper revenue assessments, under assessment and house permissions. He said that they would launch a special drive against under-assessment.
He also said that he would accord priority for the development of the villages which were merged with the MCK. He also clarified that they would take up the development of Karimnagar town as per the Master Plan of SUDA.
