

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 28, 2025: Department of Botany, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunur, Karimnagar town, organised a plantation drive on the college campus, emphasising the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living as part of Vana Mahotsavam programme on Monday.
The event began with a formal inauguration by T. Malathi, Principal of the college, who stressed the need for active student participation in green initiatives to combat climate change and preserve biodiversity. Vice Principal S.Padmaja and Head of the Department of Botany N. Srilatha also addressed the gathering, highlighting the educational and ecological value of the event. M.Kalyani, K.Geeta Rani, Masrath Butool, Imrose Shahewar and other faculty too participated enthusiastically in the drive, planting a variety of saplings, including Blackberry, Guava, Gulmohar, Hibiscus, and Sindoor plants across the college premises.
Students took an oath to protect and nurture the saplings they planted, ensuring their regular watering and care throughout the academic year.
