Telangana Media Delegation Visits NHSRCL, Sabarmati High-Speed Rail Multimodal Hub, and CEPT University in Ahmedabad
HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 08, 2026: A 10-member media delegation from Telangana, organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, visited key infrastructural hubs, academic institutions, and historical landmarks in Ahmedabad today as part of the opening day of the Gujarat Media Tour.
The delegation commenced its itinerary with a briefing session at the PIB Ahmedabad office to gain an overview of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting initiatives and developmental activities in Gujarat.
Interacting with the Telangana journalists, Siddharth Bodke, Additional Director General, PIB Ahmedabad, highlighted the media’s vital role as a key partner in effectively communicating welfare schemes and development milestones to the public.
Mr Bodke emphasised that PIB functions as a vital two-way bridge, responsible not only for disseminating information regarding central government policies and welfare initiatives to citizens, but also for conveying valuable grassroots feedback back to the Government.
Paying homage to the legacy of the Indian freedom movement, the delegation subsequently visited Kochrab Ashram, the historic site established by Mahatma Gandhi upon his return from South Africa in 1915. The journalists were briefed on the historical significance of the Ashram, its preservation, and the foundational role it played in shaping early Gandhian philosophy and the national independence struggle.
Later in the day, the delegation visited CEPT University, Ahmedabad, a premier center for habitat planning and design.
The journalists interacted with Prof. Barjor Mehta, President, CEPT University, along with senior faculty members Prof. Saswat Bandopadhyay, Prof. Shalini Sinha, Prof. Sivanand Swamy, and Prof. Sejal Patel. The interaction focused on the University’s multidisciplinary academic pedagogy, cutting-edge research, and evidence-based interventions in urban planning, transit systems, sustainable habitat management, and architecture.
Concluding the first day’s engagements, the media team visited the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) office and inspected the state-of-the-art Sabarmati High-Speed Rail Multimodal Transport Hub. Shri Aditya Singh, Deputy General Manager, NHSRCL, alongside Shri Arun Barot, Public Relations Officer, briefed the delegation on the ongoing execution of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project.
The delegation was given a detailed walkthrough of the Sabarmati Multimodal Hub, designed as a seamless interchange transit terminal. The facility integrates the upcoming High-Speed Rail terminal with the Indian Railways network, Ahmedabad Metro Rail, and the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), complemented by modern passenger amenities, expansive parking infrastructure, and green building standards.
