PEDDAPALLI, APRIL 27, 2025: At a time when government hospitals are in the news over deficiencies in providing quality medical service and even middle-class people are hesitant to go to government hospitals for treatment, Peddapalli district Collector Koya Sree Harsha has chosen a government hospital for his wife’s childbirth to set an example and instil confidence in government hospitals.
The Collector’s wife, Vijaya, developed labour pains on Saturday night, and she was shifted to the Government General Hospital, Godavarikhani. The doctors conducted a C-section surgery and gave birth to the baby boy. Senior Gynaecologists, anaesthetist, and neonatologist were present. Both the mother and child are healthy, said the doctors.
The Collector had sent his wife Vijaya for all pre-natal check-ups at the government hospital. Koya Sree Harsha is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who secured All India Rank 6 in the 2017 UPSC Civil Services Examination. He holds a B.Tech in Production and Industrial Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur.
