Paramita student honoured with Vivo Ignite Technology Innovation Award

Shubhashree Sahu wins a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 22, 2024: Shubhashree Sahu, a class 10 student at Paramita Heritage School (CBSE), Karimnagar has been honoured with the Vivo Ignite Technology and Innovation Awards 2023.

This award was bestowed to her for her scientific innovations. The award includes a trophy, a citation, and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. The chief guest Dr.Namitha Guptha has honoured Shubhashree with this prestigious award. Karimnagar Collector Pamela Sapathy and Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran and DEO Janardhan Rao appreciated Shubhashree for her great achievement.

The Vivo Ignite Technology and Innovation Awards 2023 Grand Finale was organized by Vivo Global Smartphone Brand in collaboration with NCERT-CIET and Innovation Hub, IIT Roorkee. The event was held on 10th February 2024 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, in the presence of Chief Guest Rajendra Prasad Singh, Chief Scientist and Head, CSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, Dr Namitha Guptha, the chief scientist from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Dr Indu Kumari from NCERT and Geetaj Channana, Head of Corporate Strategy, vivo India.

Subhashree has received this prestigious award through a series of demanding contests with a high intensity of competition, leaving behind 20,000 ideas nation-wide. At first, out of 20,000 ideas, 200 qualified for stage 2 for presentation. Out of these 200, 25 ideas were elevated to the 3rd stage, and finally, out of these 25,only the top 10 ideas nationwide were elevated to the grand finale. At the grand finale, only the top 5 national winners were honored with the Vivo ignite technology and innovation award.

During this event, the top 10 national finalists presented their project ideas to the grand jury at the grand finale. The jury, comprising academicians, industry experts, and representatives from esteemed institutes such as CSIR, NCERT, CIET, and IIT, have meticulously evaluated the entries. Only the top 5 national winners were honored. These top 10 innovative solutions addressing societal challenges will be considered for research, incubation, and start-up by iHub DivyaSampark, the innovation center of IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

Subhashree has developed an innovative agricultural product under her guidance, Mr.Lalit Mohan Sahu, which addresses some of the issues of marginal farmers. The innovative product is eco-friendly, multifunctional, low-cost, and portable. This designed machine can function efficiently with four separate functions like threshing, grain separation, chopping, winnowing and stitching of sacks in a single process. The designed model is operated by solar energy, thereby eliminating factors like the use of electricity, unit functionality, and huge expenditures. The agricultural machine has been certified by the Indian Council of Rice Research, Hyderabad. It is to be noted that Shubhashree is the winner of OLL-CNBC TV-18 Skill Titan episode 23, which concluded recently.
