

JAGTIAL, AUGUST 05, 2025: A one-day workshop on Robotics was successfully conducted at Government Women’s Degree College (Autonomous), Jagtial, under the joint collaboration of the Departments of Physics, Computer Science, and Soham Academy, Hyderabad.
Under the guidance of Mr. P. Pavan Kumar, a representative of Soham Academy, senior Physics students from Government Women’s College, Karimnagar, participated as trainers and provided hands-on training on robotics to 74 students of the college.
Addressing the gathering, College Principal K. Ramakrishna stated, “By organising such practical-oriented programs, students not only gain textbook knowledge but also enhance their ability to apply and analyse concepts effectively.” He appreciated Mr. K. Ramachandram, Head of the Department of Physics, and Mr. Satyam, Faculty of Computer Science, for designing and successfully conducting this innovative workshop.
During the workshop, students were trained to conduct 21 different robotics experiments using Arduino boards. Some of the key experiments included Blinking LED, Button Controlled LED, Flowing LED, Seven Segment Display, Touch Sensor Controlled LED, Ultrasonic Distance Sensor, Smartphone Controlled Home Automation, Drone Control, and Automatic Door Close System operated via cellphone. The training included demonstrations on their basic principles, functionality, and application methods.
Certificates were distributed to all participating students. Furthermore, the students who underwent this training will, on August 6, teach the robotics concepts they learned to students of 10 different government schools.
The workshop was sponsored by GainSight Foundation. Faculty members T. Pramod Kumar, G. Chandrayya, Vasala Varaprasad, Vasavi, Mrs. Sangeetha Rani, Mrs. Sujatha, Srilatha, Ms. Neeraja, Jamuna, Mrs. Sushmitha, and Physical Science students also actively participated in the programme.
