Special Monitoring from Production to Dispatch
Area-wise Appointment of Special Officers
CMD Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti Issues Directions
HYDERABAD, JULY 18, 2026: In view of the rising electricity demand in Telangana due to the prevailing El Niño conditions, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has launched a special initiative to enhance coal production while ensuring the uninterrupted supply of coal conforming to the declared grade. Accordingly, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti has issued orders appointing Special Officers for each Area.
For the next three months, these Special Officers will closely monitor coal production, quality, grade protection, dispatch, productivity, process improvement, efficiency enhancement, coordination between Area and Corporate departments, and the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
The officers have been assigned as follows:
Director (Operations): Sathupalli and Yellandu Areas
Director (Projects & Planning): Manuguru and Bhupalpally Areas
Director (Finance): Bellampalli and Mandamarri Areas
Director (E&M): RG-I and RG-III Areas
Executive Director (Coal Movement): RG-II and Naini Areas
General Manager (Marketing): Srirampur Area and Adriyala Project
On Saturday evening, the CMD conducted a special review meeting with all Area General Managers through video conference from Singareni Bhavan to review coal production, coal quality, grade protection, and dispatch.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti stated that coal quality is the hallmark of Singareni and there will be absolutely no compromise on maintaining it. He directed officials to take stringent measures across all Areas to ensure that consumers receive coal strictly conforming to the declared grade.
During the review, officials pointed out that in some Areas, the mixing of ungraded coal and shale was affecting coal quality. The CMD instructed them to take strict corrective measures to prevent the recurrence of such situations. He directed that mining operations should be carried out strictly seam-wise as per the Annual Coal Gradation Plan and that coal production must conform to the declared grade.
He further instructed that coal benches should be thoroughly cleaned before blasting in off-loading areas and that an adequate distance should be maintained between coal benches and overburden benches. Rock and shale layers should be excavated separately without mixing them with coal and dumped only in the overburden dumps. He also directed that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coal gallery housekeeping and fiery coal management be implemented meticulously across all Areas.
The CMD instructed officials to ensure that adequate numbers of crushers are installed in all opencast mines and Coal Handling Plants (CHPs) and that they remain operational at all times.
He further directed that every CHP should prepare and strictly implement a daily grade-wise coal dispatch plan. Officials should assume personal responsibility for maintaining quality control at every stage, from production to dispatch.
Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti emphasised that strengthening consumer confidence in Singareni coal quality is the responsibility of every officer. By consistently supplying coal that conforms to the declared grade, the company should further enhance its credibility and reputation.
The review meeting was attended by Director (Operations) Sri L.V. Suryanarayana, Director (Projects & Planning) Sri K. Venkateswarlu, Director (E&M) Sri M. Tirumala Rao, Executive Director (Coal Movement) Sri B. Venkanna, General Manager (Coordination & Marketing) Sri T. Srinivas, and other senior officials.
