
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 07, 2026: National Nutrition Week was celebrated from September 1 to 7, 2026, at Government Degree College for Women, Karimnagar, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy dietary practices.
As part of the celebrations, several educational and interactive activities were organised for students, including poster presentations, healthy meal plate demonstrations, food pyramid displays, diet counselling sessions, healthy food stalls, quizzes and nutrition-based games. The activities provided students with practical knowledge about balanced diets, healthy food choices and the role of nutrition in maintaining good health.

The valedictory programme was held on September 7, during which certificates were distributed to the participating students. Principal Prof. D. Varalakshmi, Controller of Examinations G. Srinivas Reddy, Academic Coordinator N. Manoj Kumar, In-charge of the Department of Applied Nutrition Ch. Vidya, and Faculty of Applied Nutrition K. Rudraveni participated in the programme and appreciated the efforts of the students. Other faculty members, including Anantha Lakshmi, Ravali Krishna, Jyotsna, Swaroopa Rani and Narayana, also participated in the celebrations.
The programme successfully highlighted the importance of “Discovering the Power of Nutrition” and encouraged students to adopt healthy and balanced dietary habits in their daily lives.
