KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 28, 2025: Justice Kumarayya College of Law, Karimnagar, a distinguished institution known for academic excellence and professional legal training, successfully organised the Preliminary Rounds of its National Moot Court Competition 2025, on Monday.
This year’s moot proposition tackled one of the most compelling and contemporary legal challenges: the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Fundamental Rights.
Participants argued complex issues surrounding the mandatory use of AI-driven risk assessment systems like judicial decision-making, raising constitutional questions of equality (Article 14), due process (Article 21), and data privacy under the DPDP Act 2023. The problem also explored the limits of judicial discretion and the ethical dilemmas posed by algorithmic bias in the justice system.
Aspiring advocates from various prestigious institutions demonstrated exceptional legal research, memorial drafting, and oral advocacy skills. Participants engaged in simulated court proceedings, presenting arguments before esteemed panels comprising senior faculty members and practising advocates.
The event witnessed remarkable enthusiasm and scholarly rigor, reflecting Justice Kumarayya College of Law’s unwavering commitment to experiential learning and holistic legal education.
The proceedings were meticulously coordinated by Assistant Professors Ms. Fabha Afreen and Ms. Malleshwari, under the able guidance of the college administration. In his inaugural address, the Principal, K Jalaja Reddy, emphasised the pivotal role of moot court activities in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application, especially in emerging fields such as law and technology.
