RAMAGUNDAM, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026: Jatothu Hussain, Hon’ble Member, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Government of India, visited NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana and held detailed review meetings with Scheduled Tribe (ST) employees, representatives of the ST Employees’ Association, and NTPC Management on Thursday.
The Member was accompanied by P. Kalyan Reddy, Director, along with other officials of the Commission. The delegation was welcomed by Shri Chandan Kumar Samanta, Executive Director & Head of Project, NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana, along with senior officials of the station.
During the visit, NTPC Management made a comprehensive presentation on the implementation of various welfare measures for Scheduled Tribe employees, reservation policy compliance, training and development initiatives, and grievance redressal mechanisms. The delegation was also briefed on the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly those aimed at the socio-economic development of tribal and nearby communities.
The Hon’ble Member interacted with ST employees and representatives of the ST Employees’ Association and heard their views, suggestions, and concerns. He emphasised the importance of safeguarding the constitutional rights of Scheduled Tribes and ensuring effective implementation of welfare measures for their empowerment and development. The NCST delegation also visited the NTPC Telangana power Plant.
During the interactions, NTPC reiterated its commitment towards creating an inclusive work environment, ensuring equal opportunities, and strengthening the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribe employees in line with Government of India guidelines.
The visit concluded with a constructive exchange of views between the Commission and NTPC Management, aimed at further enhancing the welfare, growth, and empowerment of Scheduled Tribe employees and communities.
