NAFSCOB chairman informs DCCB branch managers to encourage digital transactions through UPI

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 09, 2024: NAFSCOB and Karimnagar DCCB chairman Mr Konduru Ravinder Rao has called upon the branch managers to take measures for encouraging digital transactions through UPI (Unified Payments Interface) by the customers.

Stating that the Karimnagar DCCB was doing 9 per cent digital transactions, he said that the bank had set a target of doing 40 per cent digital transactions during this financial year by encouraging the customers to use PhonePay.

Referring to Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative bank doing a record one crore transactions worth Rs 1200 crore digital transactions in three months period, Mr Ravinder Rao said that the KDCCB should also increase its digital transactions through UPI by targeting the younger generation.

The Karimnagar DCCB chairman was speaking at the monthly branch managers review meeting at the DCCB main office in Karimnagar town on Tuesday. The Karimnagar DCCB had diversified business activities and have more than 7.8 lakh customers base, he said and added that KDCCB could also increase its digital transactions by encouraging the customers.

Informing the bank managers to conduct customers meeting and financial literacy camps (FLC) programmes, he said that the digital transactions would reduce the frequent visits of customers to the banks as they would make online payments by using UPI. He said that they would also conduct special general body meetings in each regions for maintaining good customer relations in the month of September. He also directed the bankers to activate the non-operating bank accounts by calling the customers.

Stating that the bank had set a target of doing business of Rs 7,800 crore during this financial year, he instructed the managers to increase the loaning and accord priority for the recovery and overdues well in advance to avoid last minute tensions. He also directed the bankers to focus on increasing deposits as the bank was providing highest interest rates when compared to all other banks. He said that the bankers should speed up the education loaning process.

CEO N Satyanarayana Rao informed the bankers to increase the UPI transactions by motivating the customers. Informing them to collect the lockers rents regularly, he instructed the bankers to open the non-operating lockers by serving notices to the customers.. General managers B Sridhar and Md Riaz, DGMs, AGMs and others were also present.
