Municipal Commissioner imposes fine on a shop-keeper for dumping garbage on road in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 28, 2024:  Municipal Commissioner Chahat Bajpai has imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on a shopkeeper for dumping garbage on the road in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.

Responding to the news item “Commuters and Residents cry foul over dumping of garbage on roads in Karimnagar (not so Smart City) on August 26, published on this website, the Municipal Commissioner had launched a special drive of inspecting the sanitation drive since early hours on Wednesday. Accordingly, she imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on a trader in the Jyothinagar locality in the town for dumping his shop waste on the road.

In the wake of the outbreak of seasonal diseases in Karimnagar, the MCK had launched a special drive. The Municipal Commissioner personally inspected the sanitation works in various municipal divisions on Wednesday. She directed the officials to ensure that there was no garbage dumped on the roads in the towns and warned the shopkeepers and other business establishments of stern action if they dumped their trash on the roads.

Along with launching fogging operations in entire town, the Municipal Commissioner stated that they would launch anti-larval operations by spraying chemicals and larvicides in all water logging places in the town. She also appealed to segregate the garbage at the generating points and distribute the same to the municipal garbage collection vehicles for its proper disposal. Assistant Commissioner Venu Madhav and others were also present.

The Municipal Commissioner also visited the Animal Bird Control Centre in Karimnagar town and personally inspected the sterilization of the stray dogs at the centre. She instructed the officials to take measures for the sterilization of all the stray dogs and reduce the population of the dogs. She also inspected the district central library and inquired about the facilities including serving of Rs 5 rice scheme.
