
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 20, 2025: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has formally flagged off two TGSRTC AC bus services (Lahari) from Vemulawada temple town to the Mumbai city in Vemulawada temple town on Tuesday.
The Minister, on his arrival, visited the temple shrine and offered prayers to the presiding deity of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam, and flagged off the AC bus services along with Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Nagula Satyanarayana Goud, RTC regional manager B Raju, Vemulawada ACP Seshadrini Reddy, and others were also present. Later, the dignitaries had a formal ride on the bus.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Transport said that the Government Whip had visited Mumbai and interacted with the Telugu-speaking people. When the Telugu peoplespoke about the need to introduce a bus service between Vemulawada and Mumbai, the Whip called me and I immediately sanctioned the buses with the clearance from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The AC bus service from Vemulawada to Mumbai would cover Chandurthi, Rudrangi, Korutla, Metpally, Varni and other places. Reminding that the Chief Minister had appreciated the bus services between temple town of Vemulawada to Mumbai to encourage tourism, Mr Prabhakar said that the CM had informed the Transport department to operate AC bus services to all the pilgrim centres in the state from the district headquarters and Hyderabad city.
Stating that the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had introduced free bus services to the womenfolk under the Mahalakshmi scheme, he said that the RTC was taking all measures to take up recruitment and purchase of new buses to meet the growing demand by commuters. He also informed the Mumbai people to utilise the AC bus services to visit the ancient and historic Vemulawada temple shrine.
