KARIMNAGAR, JULY 26, 2025: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu is reportedly upset over not being invited to the official development programmes at the Satavahana University in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
The Satavahana University organised the inauguration of the first floor of the Administrative Building, Laying of foundation stone for the supply of water throughout the University and inauguration of the newly renovated seminar hall in the University College of arts and social sciences.
Ironically, the University authorities had not invited the Minister for IT, Sridhar Bab,u for the official programme. Incidentally, Mr Sridhar Babu was instrumental in sanctioning the Satavahana University during Dr YSR’s regime when he was the Government Whip in the year 2008.
Sources said that the Satavahana University authorities had purposefully neglected inviting Mr Sridhar Babu for the official programme and called him only just a few days ago when he was having a busy schedule at the behest of some persons better known to the University authorities.
Similarly, the University authorities had not invited any of the dignitaries, such as Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Whip Adi Srinivas and other MLAs and MLCs for the official programme as the University jurisdiction covers the entire old Karimnagar district.
It is alleged that University Vice Chancellor U Umesh Kumar, who is an ardent fan of Minister of Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, is acting on his diktats and neglecting the other public representatives. Similarly, the University is also progressing in reverse during his regime under the supervision of Registrar K Ravi Kumar.
The supporters of Minister Sridhar Babu have expressed their ire against the University authorities for neglecting the Minister for IT and other MLAs and MLCs of the district, and only encouraging Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar.
Only the MLA who attended the programme was Choppadandi MLA Medipalli Satyam and Manakondur MLA Dr Kavvampalli Satyanarayana and former MLA Arepalli Mohan, and others.
