NALGONDA, FEBRUARY 10, 2026: The month-long Prakriti Vigyan Yatra, organised by Vigyan Darsini Sanstha to promote environmental protection, scientific awareness and constitutional values, culminated at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) on Tuesday.
Addressing students at a seminar held under the NSS banner, MGU Vice-Chancellor Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain stressed the need for students to cultivate a rational and scientific outlook. He said that rigorous study, careful observation and the application of knowledge to societal needs can transform any student into a scientist capable of contributing meaningfully to the nation. Nature poet and activist Jayaraj, speaking as a guest of honour, highlighted the inseparable relationship between humanity and nature.

He said that sustainable living and environmental responsibility must become part of everyday life. He urged citizens to plant trees, uphold ecological balance and remain committed to the Directive Principles, rights and responsibilities enshrined in the Constitution. Students and teachers later took an oath to protect both nature and constitutional values. Vigyan Darsini founder Ramesh emphasised that scientific advancement is fundamental to human survival.

Citing examples of how science has addressed numerous challenges, he said universities carry a significant responsibility to transmit the hard-earned knowledge and sacrifices of great thinkers to future generations. He encouraged students to participate in community service through NSS by putting aside personal and regional differences. During the programme, Ganji Eshwara Lingam spoke about the importance of eye and blood donation. Vigyan Darsini State Representative Suresh Kumar, Swarajyam, NSS Coordinator Maram Venkat Ramana Reddy, Jakka Suresh Reddy, NSS Programme Officers Sherif, Kiranmai, Ramesh Niak, faculty members and a large number of students were present.
