KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 13, 2026: Mr Praful Desai, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar, has visited the garbage dumping yard located on the shores of the river Manair and the proposed Manair River Front in Karimnagar town on Tuesday.
Following the reports about the smoke emanating from the garbage dumping yard on Monday, the MCK commissioner visited the dumping yard wearing a face mask and directed the fire service personnel to extinguish the fire.
He directed the officials to take necessary measures to avoid recurrence of fire mishaps and smoke emanating from the garbage dumping yard. He also said that the MCK was taking all measures for the segregation of garbage by deploying a larger number of bio-mining machines.
It may be recalled that this website had reported titled ‘Garbage dump fire spread toxic fumes in Karimnagar’ on Monday (October 12, 2026). The people of the town have choked and gasped for breath due to the smoke from the garbage dumping yard.
In spite of efforts being made by the MCK, the smoke is being emanating from the dumping yard choking people living at its vicinity. The authorities have failed to relocate the dumping yard into a closed granite quarry by dumping the existing garbage and covering it up with red and alluvial sand and later take up plantation of saplings to avoid pollution.
