KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 22, 2025: The Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar has clarified that all works undertaken (encroached) by the MCK inside the Collectorate campus were carried out as per the request of the Collectorate Administrative Officer (AO) and with the approval of the District Collector, and the MCK has not taken up any activity on its own or without official instructions.
Responding to series of news articles published in this website about the encroachment of the Collectorate parking space by taking up plantation denying parking to the visitors, removal of toilets and erection of signboards for imposing for urinating in the open and removal of cement benches set up in front of the Collector chamber premises and closure of toilets at the Collectorate auditorium, the MCK in an official release here on Saturday had stated that the plantation was taken up to enhance greenery and improve environmental quality on the premises and to protect these plants from cattle movement, fencing was erected only for safeguarding the saplings. These measures were taken up as part of improving the Collectorate campus environment.
The MCK had stated that all works undertaken by MCK inside the Collectorate campus were carried out duly taking prior approval from the concerned authority, and MCK has not taken up any activity on its own.
With regard to the CC road works, the MCK stated that as per the request and instructions communicated through the Collectorate authorities, CC patch works were executed to prevent inconvenience to the public, staff and visitors, and to ensure safer and smoother movement within the premises.
These measures were implemented as part of efforts to improve the campus environment. Furthermore, it is clarified that a new parking area will be established in the new Collectorate building. As per the approved development plan and design of the new Collectorate, the old parking place is to be developed as a green space/ garden area.
Removal of toilets and benches in the premises was not done by this office. The MCK has no role, involvement, or responsibility in this regard.
The development of the park in helipad area will be taken up only after the specific instructions and approval from the government or the concerned authority, and MCK on its own cannot take up this work.
On the erection of signboards, the MCK clarified that they had not erected fine boards and had not imposed any fines relating to littering on the Collectorate premises. The signboards mentioning fines were arranged entirely by the AO, Collectorate, and not the MCK.
The MCK also stated that the repair works, painting and other building-related works carried out in the Collectorate were undertaken by the Panchayat Raj department and not by MCK.
With regard to the removal of toilets at Collectorate, the MCK said that the removal of toilets on the premises of Collectorate was not done by this office. The MCK has no role, involvement, or responsibility in dismantling any toilet structures in the Collectorate premises.

It is a blatant violation of encroaching on the existing parking structures and taking up plantation, and the erection of fencing around it and causing serious parking woes with the increasing vehicular population.
What is wrong if people sit on the benches erected by the same revenue for over a decade on the Collectorate premises? Why were benches removed, denying some space for the people to rest when they visit the Collectorate for various reasons? Whether the officials are ‘civil servants’ in a democracy or feudal lords prevailed during the Nizam dynasty?
