

PEDDAPALLI, MAY 01, 2025: It is important for all workers to work with safety using gadgets at work locations, it is also important to know the rights & privileges made available to workers in an Industrial environment, said Chandan Kumar Samanta, Executive Director (Ramagundam & Telangana).

While addressing a huge gathering of workers at May Day Park located inside the Ramagundam power station on Thursday, he congratulated all workers, employees of NTPC & all stakeholders on the occasion of May Day & the programme organised by NTPC in a befitting manner. At the beginning of the celebrations, HoP hoisted the NTPC flag as a mark of the May Day celebration held today. He thanked all contractors, workers for their unstinting support for the smooth running of Ramagundam & Telangana power plants.
He also lauded the support extended by Unions & Associations in creating a harmonious working environment. Babar Saleem Pasha, Central NBC Member, also wished the workers & appreciated their contribution. Alok Kumar Tripathi GM (O&M), Ramagundam, KC Singha Roy, GM (Opn.), Ramagundam & Bijoy Kumar Sikdar, Head of HR & other Heads of depts. & Employees from Ramagundam & Telangana were present on the occasion.
Labour Rights Day Celebrated at EDC Millennium Hall
To promote vigilance, integrity, and ethical governance, the Vigilance Department organized a special observance of Labour Rights Day for contract labourers at EDC Millennium Hall.
The programme was chaired by Sudhakar Bhogaraju, AGM (Vigilance), and witnessed the participation of several senior officials including Binoy Jose (AGM – Project Construction), K. Lingiah (AGM – Operations), T. Srinivas (AGM – CHP), Vijay Kumar (AGM – TMD), Adesh Kumar Pandey (Sr. Manager – HR), Deepak Kumar Pathak (Sr. Manager – HR), and Abhishek Kumar (Dy. Manager – HR), along with a large gathering of contract labourers from various departments.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Adesh Kumar Pandey, followed by an insightful speech by Sudhakar Bhogaraju. He emphasised the significance of Labour Rights Day, the importance of safeguarding the rights of contract workers, and spreading awareness about the legal entitlements available to them.
A comprehensive and informative presentation was delivered by Deepak Kumar Pathak, highlighting key labour laws such as Minimum Wages, Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Maternity Benefits, Equal Remuneration, and Grievance Redressal Mechanisms.
The program concluded on a positive note, with heartfelt appreciation extended to all the contract labourers for their enthusiastic participation, which played a crucial role in making the event a resounding success.
