KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 12, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar along with Collector Pamela Satpathy has formally inaugurated the Mahila Shakthi canteen on the premises of the Collectorate office premises in Karimnagar town on Tuesday evening.
On this occasion, the Minister tasted the dishes prepared by the Mahila Sakthi canteen and expressed satisfaction with the quality and taste of the food. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that they were taking all measures to open Mahila Shakthi canteens in all the districts.
Reminding that the government had launched free bus travel for the women in the Telangana state, he said that the government was planning to purchase at least 600 buses through IKP women groups in the state. Stating that the government was taking all measure for the economic empowerment of womenfolk, he said that they were taking measures to provide handloom sarees to the women SHG members.
Additional Collector Praful Desai, Municipal Commissioner Chahat Bajpai, Trainee Collector Ajay Yadav, RDO Maheshwar and others were also present.
