KARIMNAGAR, MAY 19, 2024: The Lions Club members are ‘Ambassadors of Goodwill’ and striving for the upliftment of the poorer sections of society with their social service activities, said Lions International Director Gattamaneni Babu Rao.
Stating that the Lions clubs was the biggest voluntary organisation and striving for upliftment of the society since last 107 years, he said that over 25,000 Lions club members spread over eight Lion districts of Telangana state have won accolades for their relentless service to the mankind and emerged as ‘Service Lions’.
Participating in the closing ceremony of the MultiCon, the three-day fourth annual council meeting of the Lions International Multiple district 320 comprising of Lions Clubs of Telangana and parts of Karnataka state, on Sunday, Mr Babu Rao stressed on the need to expand the Lions club activities in the villages by constituting the mandal level committees. He exuded with confidence that the Lions club membership would cross 15 lakhs were very soon.
Lions multiple council chairman Teegala Mohan Rao had presided over the meeting. Former Lions International Director and GAT Area leader R Sunil Kumar lauded the services of Lions club of Karimnagar including the charitable eye hospital in Rekurthi for their relentless services to the poorer sections of society.
Lions 320 district governor Hanumandla Raji Reddy, Multiple conference chairman Minesh Narayan Tandon, NV Rao, S Kodandaram, M Badresham, Deepak Battacharjee, Narender Reddy, Mohan, IPMCC lion Vidyasagar Reddy, Dr Gurram Srinivasa Reddy and others participated in the conference.
On this occasion, the Lions club delegates were felicitated by presenting them with appreciation letters and pins. The meeting also paid condolences to the Lions club members who passed away due to various reasons. The programme concluded with a colourful cultural programmes.
