
WARANGAL, OCTOBER 04, 2026: The 16th Endowment Lecture in memory of late Dr. K. Balagopal, former faculty member of Kakatiya University and noted human rights activist, will be held on Thursday, October 8, at 11:00 AM at the Senate Hall, University Administrative Building.
Prof. K. Pratap Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Kakatiya University, will preside over the programme. Eminent sociologist and social activist Prof. G. Haragopal and IT professional and Human Rights Forum (HRF) activist Talla Rohith will be the speakers. They will speak on the topic “Relevance of Balagopal’s Writings.”
Registrar Prof. V. Ramachandram has invited the Vice-Chancellor, Executive Council members, faculty, research scholars, students and staff to attend the programme.
National conference on ‘Modern Biotechnology: Challenges and Opportunities’ at KU
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Kakatiya University (1976–2026) and the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Department of Biotechnology (2000–2025), the Department of Biotechnology is organising a two-day National Conference on “Modern Biotechnology: Challenges and Opportunities.”
The conference will be held at the Senate Hall, University Administrative Building. Faculty members, research scholars and students are invited to participate.
The inaugural session will be held on October 7 at 10:30 a.m. Prof. K. Pratap Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Kakatiya University, will be the Chief Guest. Registrar Prof. V. Ramachandram will be the Guest of Honour, while Prof. B. Venkatram Reddy, Dean, Faculty of Science and OSD to the Vice-Chancellor, will be the Distinguished Guest. Dr. Giridhar Parvatham, Director, CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, will deliver the keynote address.
The valedictory session will be held on October 8 at 4:15 p.m. Prof. T. Manohar, Principal, University College, will be the Chief Guest, and Prof. R. Mallikarjuna Reddy, UGC Unit Coordinator and RUSA 2.0 Nodal Officer, will be the Guest of Honour. P. Srinivas of the Department of Biotechnology is the Conference Convenor, and T. Sastry is the Organising Secretary.
