NIRMAL, JANUARY 17, 2025: The Pravasi Mitra Labour Union has urged Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju Patel to take necessary measures for the release of Lingapur villagers of Kadem mandal, who are lodged in Malaysia jail.
PMLU president Swadesh Parikipandla, Khanapur mandal president Donikena Dayanand and others met the Khanapur MLA at the Collectorate in Nirmal town on Friday and narrated the plight of the villagers of Lingapur, who migrated to Malaysia, attracted by the agents promises on visiting and lodged in the jails.
The MLA immediately called NRI wing chairman and Ambassador BM Vinod Kumar, who assured to solve the issue by talking to the Malaysia ambassador. The villagers said that the agents had deceived the gullible villagers of Lingapur viz Rachakonda Naresh, Talari Bhaskar, Gunda Bhumaraju, Gurijala Rajeshwar, and Gurijana Shankar by promising lucrative jobs and sending them to Malaysia on visiting visas.
During the search, the Malaysian police nabbed them and produced them before the court, which sentenced them to jail term. Gurujala Padma, Gurujala Rama, Bhaskar, Bhumaraju, Akula Latchanna, Nimma Ganesh and others were also present.
