
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 22, 2024: In order to create awareness on Jan Suraksha, a social security insurance, the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCCB) conducted a financial literacy campaign in Chintakunta village on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Tuesday.
KDCCB Mankammathota branch manager Sanjeetha, bank staff B Krishna, FLC counselor Shiva Kumar and others participated in the porgramme. The aim of the campaign was to create awareness among the people about social security insurance schemes of PMJJBY (Pradhan Manthri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana) and PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana).
They educated the people about Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, a life insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh was available on paying a premium of Rs 436 per year. For this, the age of the beneficiary should be between 18 and 50 years. Similarly, the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana provides an accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh on a premium of Rs 20 per year. For this, the age of the beneficiary should be between 18 and 70 years.
They educated the villagers about the need to open bank account and give consent to the manager concerned for deduction of annual premium. They were also informed to maintain adequate balance in the bank account. They also enlightened about the DCCB achievements and emerging as a role model in the country by providing all services on par with any commercial bank.
