KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 11, 2026: Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS), Karimnagar, has achieved another significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence with the accreditation of its B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) [CSE (AI&ML)] programme under Tier-1 category by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under the Washington Accord.
This is indeed a very special and proud moment for JITS. NBA accreditation under the prestigious Tier-I category for our CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) undergraduate programme places us among a very select group of institutions in the country. In fact, only three colleges in India have achieved NBA Tier-I accreditation specifically for CSE (AI & ML), and JITS is proud to be one of them. The state of Telangana has only 2 institutions with an NBA-accredited CSE(AI&ML) course, and JITS is one of them and the only college in the region to have achieved NBA accreditation under the prestigious Tier-1 category for an UG Programme.
The B.Tech. CSE (AI&ML) programme has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for three years, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.
With this achievement, JITS now has four NBA-accredited Undergraduate programmes, namely:
- B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- B.Tech. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) – CSE (AI&ML)

The accreditation of CSE (AI&ML) is particularly significant as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are among the most transformative technologies shaping the future of industry, research and society.
The NBA recognition demonstrates the department’s efforts to develop students with the technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, professional skills and innovation mindset required for emerging technology-driven careers.
