HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026: Indian Army Soldier, poet, writer and multilingual literary personality Peruka Raju emerged as a winner in the “Guruvuku Akshara Neerajanam” (A Literary Tribute to the Guru) poetry competition organised by Vishwa Sahiti Kala Vedika as part of the Guru Pujotsavam celebrations.
His poem, portraying the greatness of the Guru and expressing profound respect and gratitude towards teachers, received appreciation for its literary merit and emotional depth. The winners were selected on the basis of literary quality, originality, depth of thought and expression.
On the occasion, Mrs. Kalavathi, Chairperson of Vishwa Sahiti Kala Vedika, congratulated Peruka Raju and presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation. She observed that the verses flowing from his pen beautifully reflected his reverence and gratitude towards teachers.
“May your literary journey continue to flourish, May your pen remain ever in motion, And may your words continue to illuminate and inspire society,” she wished.
The programme was attended by Mrs. G. Bhavani, Women’s President; Mrs. Anjani Kumari, Telangana Women’s President; Bharathi Devi, Women’s Secretary; Sharath Babu, Prasad, Shivakumari, Sheikh and others, who congratulated Peruka Raju on his achievement.
Raju is presently serving as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army while continuing his literary pursuits as a poet, writer, critic and multilingual scholar. A soldier in the service of the nation and a soldier of letters in the service of literature, he continues to leave his distinctive imprint on both worlds.
Two more literary collections from his pen are also set to reach readers shortly. “Jawan,” a Telugu poetry collection, and “All Is Well,” an English poetry collection, are being readied for publication. While Jawan gives poetic expression to the experiences of a soldier’s life, patriotism and human emotions, All Is Well presents his English poetic voice on life, society and humanity.
The Vishwa Sahiti Kala Vedika team extended its heartfelt congratulations to Peruka Raju on his achievement and expressed the hope that his valuable support and encouragement to its literary and cultural initiatives would continue in the years ahead.
