Independence Day celebrated at TSWRDC for women in Nagunuru with enthusiasm

KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 15, 2024: Students of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for women, Nagunuru, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism on Thursday.

Principal T Malathi hoisted the national flag along with faculty members. Under the guidance of the Principal, Vice principal G. Samatha, Senior faculty  D. Srihari and K Geetha Rani, Superintendent T. Suresh Kumar, S. Padmaja, P. Shankaraiah and others, students participated in various programmes such as speeches, poetry and slogan writing competition was arranged for the celebration. On this occasion, the prizes were distributed to the students, who excelled in various competitions.

The campus was decorated by the students with national flags, flowers and patriotic posters. “We celebrate Independence Day every year on August 15 because on this day India got freedom from British rule. This is just not to mark freedom from the invaders who ruled the country for 200 years, but also to celebrate the right of every Indian to live freely and enjoy all other constitutional rights, “ said the Principal in her address to the students and teachers. She said the celebration is a tribute to all freedom fighters and the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the security and freedom of India.
