Police remove Kaushik Reddy from the meeting place. He dared Jagtial legislator to resign and seek a fresh mandate on the Congress party ticket
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 12, 2025: Commotion prevailed at the district review committee meeting chaired by Karimnagar in charge minister and Minister for Irrigation N Uttam Kumar Reddy and attended Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar when Huzurabad legislator created ruckus in the meeting by abusing Jagtial legislator Dr M Sanjay Kumar on Sunday.
The meeting was held to review the progress of Rythu Bharosa, the Indiramma housing scheme and other developmental works at the Collectorate auditorium in Karimnagar town. When the Jagtial legislator Dr Sanjay Kumar rose to the occasion to speak at the meeting, the Huzurabad legislator Kaushik Reddy obstructed and asked to which party he belonged.
Kaushik Reddy demanded the authorities not to give a mike to the Jagtial legislator. When the Jagtial legislator asked why he should not be given a mike, then Kaushik Reddy said that first, he should disclose to which he belongs. Heated arguments ensued between the duo and at one stage Kaushik Reddy tried to manhandle Dr Sanjay Kumar. Incidentally, MLC T Jeevan Reddy was also present in the meeting.
The other legislators and government whips A Laxman Kumar and Adi Srinivas had also tried to convince Kaushik Reddy, but in vain. Later, the police swung into action and shifted him from the meeting hall. Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar also accompanied Mr Kaushik Reddy out of the meeting hall.
Later, talking to newsmen, Mr Kaushik Reddy alleged that Dr Sanjay Kumar was sold to the Congress party after being elected on the BRS ticket from the Jagtial assembly segment. He dared Mr Sanjay Kumar to resign to the Jagital MLA post and contest on the Congress party ticket freshly. He claimed that Dr Sanjay Kumar was elected as legislator only with the blessings of BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Government advisor Harkara Venugopal, Government Whips Adi Srinivas and Adluri Laxman Kumar, MLCs T Jeevan Reddy, T Bhanu Prasad Rao and L Ramana, MLAs Dr K Satyanarayana, Medipalli Satyam, Ch Vijaya Ramana Rao, Makhan Singh, SUDA chairman K Narender Reddy, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Sircilla collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, Peddapalli Collector Koya Sriharsha, Sircilla SP Akhil Mahajan, Additional Collectors Praful Desai, Laxmi Kiran, Arunasri, Abdul Azeez, Bheema Naik, Venu, BS Latha and others were also present.
