KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 07, 2025: Parks are considered to be lungs of a city. The more they are the better the surrounding air in the city. Also, it helps people to relax after a day’s hard work, for a few others it provides space for daily routine walk place.
Ironically, the authorities of the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar, who have snatched away the government junior college grounds and converted it into Jyothibha Phule Park and Multipurpose school grounds had made it paid parks to earn income at the cost of the people of the town.
Following the news of MCK converting both the parks into paid parks and denying the same to the common people to relax, HUM (Hamara Unnati Marg) voluntary organisation founder president Dhanapuri Sagar and others met Collector Pamela Satpathy and submitted a memorandum appealing the Collector to ensure that the parks are made free entry all sections and remove the collection of entry fees.
The HUM voluntary organisation representatives also urged the Collector to ensure that there are 44 municipal parks as exist on the records in the MCK. They also urged the Collector to ensure that there were parks in every municipal division as per the norms of the Municipal Corporation Act to provide free relaxation to the people.
