HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 01, 2024: The Telangana state government has declared a holiday for all educational institutions including government and private on Monday (September 2, 2024) in view of the prevailing weather conditions and continuous incessant rains and overflowing lakes, rivulets and streams.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has decided in this regard after holding a teleconference with the Ministers and other senior officials of the state. Minister for Revenue, Housing and I&PR Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy disclosed this to newsmen at a press conference held at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Sunday. He clarified that the respective district collectors would take an appropriate decision on declaring holiday for the educational institutions.
Stating that the rains had battered the state with inundation of several low-lying areas and water flooding even national highways, the government had decided to declare a holiday on Monday as the IMD had predicted more rains for another 48 hours in the state.
