KARIMNAGAR, JULY 07, 2025: The Children’s Islamic Organisation (CIO) has launched a nationwide environmental campaign under the slogan “Hands in the Soil, Heart with the Nation.” The primary aim of this campaign is for children across the country to plant and nurture one million trees between 25 June and 26 July 2025.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Karimnagar District office of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, CIO students Syeda Sheema Fatima, Mohammed Ashraf, Arfa Khan, Rida Mahwish, and Sahrish Khan said: CIO is a national platform based on Islamic values for the all-around development of children. We believe that love for nature should be taught from childhood, and when children are properly guided, they can change the world. This campaign intends to instill in children a sense of love for nature, responsibility, and care, making tree planting a joyful and meaningful national service.
Elaborating further, Syeda Sidra Sarfaraz explained that the objectives of this campaign are clear: Our earth is continuously warming, trees are disappearing daily, and air quality is deteriorating. Forests are vanishing, and with them, our struggle against climate change is growing harder. CIO believes that children can play a pivotal role in reversing this trend. When a child plants and nurtures a tree, they protect the earth and themselves while learning high moral values like responsibility and compassion.
Mohammed Ashraf explained the campaign’s details and said that children will plant trees in schools, madrasas, masajid, parks, and in front of their homes.
Each child will be encouraged to give their tree a name, think of it as a friend, and care for it. They will also be encouraged to document their feelings through drawings, crafts, poetry, etc. The campaign will include various activities such as Green Pledge ceremonies, Friday sermons on environmental protection, nature walks, art, poetry, storytelling competitions, and more, to make the campaign meaningful, educational, and enjoyable. Children will also be invited to share their tree plantation efforts on social media through short videos and reels.
Speaking about government cooperation and campaign slogans, Zaid Khan said: To execute this campaign effectively, the CIO works with relevant government departments to provide healthy saplings, identify suitable locations, supply educational material about plants and animals, and protect fertile areas. The CIO will ensure that children receive proper guidance and that the planted trees survive and thrive. To make the plantation drive more spirited and impactful, the CIO has also released some slogans that will echo throughout schools, homes, and public spaces during the campaign:
“Where every child plants a tree, a lush green world blossoms there. “When a single leaf smiles, every day turns green and fresh.” Mr. Sohaib Ahmad Khan, the Karimnagar District President of JIH, appealed to all students, teachers, parents, school administrators, and religious leaders to actively participate in this campaign.
Let us raise a generation that turns love into action. Become heroes of the trees, become green ambassadors. We appeal to the media, educators, civil society, and environmental organisations to promote and support this campaign. Let us strive to make this more than just a statistic — let it become a mission of earth stewardship led by children. Just imagine: if each child plants and nurtures a tree, we will have a million new trees, making our country greener and securing our future. Plant trees, protect the earth, and take pride.
