RAMAGUNDAM, MARCH 11, 2025: The closing ceremony of the 54th National Safety Week was conducted with great enthusiasm at NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana on Tuesday (March 11, 2025).
The theme of this year’s celebration, “Safety and Well-being Crucial for Viksit Bharat,” set a positive tone for the program, which began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony and the NTPC Geet by the chief Guest Y Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Karimnagar, Government of Telangana, and Guest of Honour Chandan Kumar Samanta, ED (R&T) along with other dignitaries. The safety pledge was administered in three languages, reflecting the commitment to inclusivity in safety practices.
DGM (Safety) D Y Bahekar welcomed the attendees, followed by AGM (Safety) Suprakash Chakraborty, who presented the Safety Report for Ramagundam and Telangana for 2024. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support in achieving significant safety awards.
The importance of safety and enhancing the safety culture was emphasized by several dignitaries, including Mukesh Kumar, Rajeshwar, Anjana Ranjan Dash, and Alok Kumar Tripathi.
Chief Guest Y Gangadhar Reddy connected the importance of safety to historical examples, urging all present to improve their safety behaviors.
Chandan Kumar Samanta also addressed the gathering, highlighting essential road safety practices to be followed in the township and plant areas. He urged all employees and contract workers to adhere strictly to safety rules and regulations to ensure a zero-accident workplace.
The event underscored the collective commitment to fostering a robust safety culture within the organization and beyond.
The prize were also distributed for the various competitions held during National Safety Week 2025, awarding a total of 200 prizes. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with approximately 500 members attending.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Y Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Karimnagar, Government of Telangana, who served as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Chandan Kumar Samanta, ED (R&T); Alok Kumar Tripathi, GM (O&M), Ramagundam; Anjana Ranjan Dash, GM (O&M), Telangana; Mukesh Kumar, Sr. Commandant, CISF; and several union representatives and employees from various agencies, along with school children.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sh. Raghavendra N R, Manager of Safety, acknowledging the efforts of all participants and contributors.
