Lakhs of devotees witness high-octane Garuda Seva

TIRUMALA, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026: Lakhs of devotees converged to witness the most popular carrier service-the Garuda Vahana Seva during the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala on Saturday evening.
As soon as the mighty golden Garuda came out of the Vahana Mandapam at 6:30pm, the entire Hill town reverberated with the divine chants of “Govinda…Govinda” by tens of thousands of devotees who occupied every inch of the galleries of the four mada streets on the auspicious occasion.
ARRANGEMENTS BY TTD: The 190 galleries along the four mada streets have a holding capacity of 1.8lakh devotees and there is no exaggeration that every inch has been occupied by the devotees. In reality most of the galleries were jampacked from Friday night itself.
TTD has been supplying milk, Annaprasadams, beverages, snacks since the early hours of Saturday to the pilgrims who are waiting in the galleries.
Around 2000 Srivari Seva volunteers have been exclusively drafted to oversee the arrangements of Annaprasadam and water distribution besides crowd management and child tagging services.

Meanwhile TTD has drafted around 600 employees besides deploying senior officers as sectoral officers at Eight different key places in Tirumala to pursue the amenities being provided to the devotees.
FREQUENT INSPECTIONS:
TTD Chairman Sri B R Naidu, TTD EO Sri M Ravichandra, Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary personally inspected the galleries at regular intervals to oversee the arrangements and even collected the feedback from the devotees.
While the JEOs Dr Sharath and Sri Gopinath visited the outside lines joining Silatoranam to see the Annaprasadam and water distribution arrangements from time to time.
TTD CVSO Sri Murali Krishna, along with SP Sri Subbarayudu, regularly monitored the crowd management in the galleries, outside queue lines and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers to ensure hassle-free arrangements for devotees.
